What a fantastic week in Delamere with lots of fun and learning!
We are definitely feeling Christmassy now after our festive trip to Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre - it was like a winter wonderland! We groomed Pearl the Shetland Pony, met Heidi the ginormous pig, rode in Santa's sleigh and saw lots of fascinating animals including foxes, pole cats, Scottish wild cats and a very hungry otter called Mabel. All of this excitement was topped off with a meeting with the big man himself - Santa! He said that we are all on the good list and even gave us all a present. What a day! The children behaved beautifully and some other visitors commented saying how impressed they were and that the children were a real credit to the school.
In DT most of us have completed our owl puppets, adding the features to the front piece and joining the front to the back with a running stitch. They are absolutely fantastic and we can't wait to share them with Hatchmere very soon! Watch this space for photos when they are all completed!
In English, we explored lots of wonderful vocabulary as we began our new unit.
In Maths we have worked on the tricky skill of adding by making ten. It was quite tricky but we will continue to work on this as we move forward with our Addition and Subtraction.
In Science we explored the habitat of woodlice and thought about where they would not survive and why. Lots of scientifc explanations!
Our big WELL DONE for Numbots this week goes to Daisy, Archie and Suzanne.

Tuesday 12th December: Carol Service in St. John’s Church at 1.30pm. All welcome. Collection of all children from church.
Wednesday 13th December: Guitar/ Ukulele performance for parents – details to follow
Thursday 14th December: Whole school pantomime – Beauty and the Beast – at Northwich Memorial Court
Thursday 14th December: Santa’s Grotto 3.20pm – 5pm
Friday 15th December: Christmas Jumper Day – this is a non-uniform event with a Christmas embellishment!
Friday 15th December: End of term at 2pm
