Delamere's Weekly Update - 10.2.17

This week has made me feel immensely proud of all the children. The work they produced for the writing exhibition was amazing. A big thank you to all who came and supported the event and an even bigger thank you for all your wonderful comments.

Our maths this week has looked at weight and time. In year 2 the children need to tell the time to quarter of an hour and then progress on to the nearest 5 minutes. It would be great if you could practise this with your child at home. There are lots of free apps on the apple or google play stores to help them do this.

In guided reading we looked at how the main characters feelings changed throughout the story, this is something you could do with books your child reads at home. How do you know that they are feeling like that? What is it in the book that tells/shows you this?

The new reading reward scheme is working brilliantly, thank you for your support. Some children have received their third treat already meaning they have read over 30 times since we came back after Christmas. Wow!!
