Delamere's Weekly Update 14.10.16

Wow, this week has flown by!

In English we found out that the mysterious space creature is called Hoctopize. He had very red eyes because he had been crying about his lost toy called Cuddles. The toys found out that Hoctopize had been taking lots of toys into his spaceship in his search for Cuddles. They toys made Hoctopize realise that he needed to send all the toys back. We got into role as Hoctopize and wrote a sorry letter to the children. We have also made our own Hoctopize puppet and created a set of instrucitons so that Sandymere can make a puppet too.

Our work in maths this week has looked at measure, position and direction. The children would all benefit from more practise at measuring to the nearest cm and using the words left, right, clockwise and anticlockwise.

In our topic work we have explored objects around the school and used pic collage to sort them according to the material that they are made from. We have also created a timeline of popular toys from history to form part of our toy display in the classroom. I will post a picture of the completed display next week.

George our Vicar came to visit us on Wednesday to teach us more about out class Christian Value of compassion. He told us the Bible story about Jonah and the big fish. Jonah was shown compassion by God and then Jonah showed compassion to others. We are going to learn more about this story next week and create some work for our RE display.
