Delamere's Weekly Update 21.10.16

What a wonderful Harvest Service we had on Wednesday! I was very proud of all the children for learning their words and saying them so clearly. Well done everyone. 

Thank you for coming to parents evening this week. It was lovely to meet you all and share your child's learning so far in Year 2. 

We have finished reading Toys in Space and have re-told the story using our story maps. Next week we will begin planning our own story based on this book. Maybe your child already has some ideas about what their space creature will be. 

In maths we have looked at counting in 2s forwards and backwards and in 10s from any number. Then we moved on to looking at fractions - half and quarters of shapes. I was very impressed with their knowledge. 

In our topic work we have begun our interviews to find out about toys in the past. We will be finishing these off next week. We have also been learning  more about materials and why they are suitable for different jobs.

Once again our class attendance was over 98% last week so we enjoyed our treat time to celebrate this. Keep it up Delamere!
