Fantastic Friday in Delamere

Date: 30th Apr 2021 @ 11:56am

Another two very busy but enjoyable days in Delamere! We have continued to look at division in Maths and used our new skills to solve word problems. The children are becoming really confident in sharing and grouping objects into equal groups and there were some fabulous explanations as we worked on our problem solving and reasoning skills.

We practised our English skills in our RE and Science work this week exploring different sentence types. In RE we wrote statements to explain different communities that we belong to like our family, our school and our Church. It was a lovely opportunity to have a chat about all of the clubs that the children are eager to get back to as well.

In Science we planted some beans in clear bags so that we can observe closely what happens to it as it grows. We also planted some beans in different places so that we can explore the different conditions affect how the bean grows. Once we had all planted our beans we then used command sentences to write our instructions. We thought about which bossy verbs would fit best and the children even added some adverbs into their work.

We had a sports coach in for our PE this afternoon and the children gave their all working on their long distance running skills. Can they tell you the important word that they learnt starting with P?

Our Numbots winners this week were:

1st - Robyn

2nd - Joshua

3rd - Kai

Highest Accuracy - Robyn

Our excellent examples for the week were Joshua, Holly, Harry and Wyatt.

A big well done to everyone for another super week and we hope that you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend.
