Good Morning Oakmere - Week 5

Date: 13th Apr 2020 @ 1:17pm

Hi there everyone,

So sorry it's been a while since we blogged but unfortunately we weren't able to login to the website last week. We hope you enjoyed the sunny Easter Weekend with some delicious chocolatey treats! We were very lucky as the Easter Bunny visited and left us all an Easter egg (including a creme egg one for me - my favourite!) and Alice and Matilda also enjoyed their first try at egg rolling down a hill when we went out for our daily walk.

Here we are at the start of week 5 at home and what would have been the first day of the summer term. It still feels very strange not to be seeing you all in school but it is important for us to look at the bigger picture and remember life will go back to normal eventually.  I know lots of you will be wanting to keep busy so here are some more ideas for you...

Starting at 9am this morning, the BBC have new online lessons as well as other resources for a range of subjects https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/primary I've no idea what this will be like so will check it out today and let you know my thoughts!

For anyone wanting a bit more structure and formality, there is a new online classroom that has been approved by the government https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom. I am going to look over the schedule each week and give my suggestions for what to try but you are of course welcome to have a look at anything you like in your year group! You can find this week's plan for Year 3 and 4 in the files below. I would suggest definitely having a go at the English and Maths this week. The science and history is different to what we would have been doing in school but by all means have a go if you fancy. There's also some Spanish and Music for you to try.

Calling all football fans! The Premier League website has a home learning page with loads of fun things to keep you busy: https://plprimarystars.com/home-learning

As always Oakmere, we miss you and are thinking of you lots. Keep busy and stay safe.

Mrs Riley and Mrs Starsiak smiley
