Good morning Oakmere 30.3.20

Good morning Oakmere!

We hope you are all well and have enjoyed a nice, relaxing weekend at home. I was thinking about our English topic this morning and how it is a real shame that we won’t be able to finish our work on blue whales. So I thought some of you might like to do a bit of writing at home and you could use all your fabulous knowledge of blue whales to write an information booklet all about them. For an extra challenge, you could also put a persuasive spin on things and add a paragraph about how important it is that we protect these gentle giants and work hard to reduce sea pollution. Here are 2 useful websites I came across if you struggle to remember the facts we learnt https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/discover/animals/sea-life/10-blue-whale-facts/  https://www.ducksters.com/animals/bluewhale.php and there will be many more for you to explore too. Remember when using search engines such as google, think about the words you use so that you are given age-appropriate websites, e.g. facts on blue whales for kids. We look forward to seeing some of your super writing when we get back to school!

We also have some more lovely maths ideas from First4Maths using lego and your garden which you might like to have a look at. http://www.first4maths.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Lego-Maths.pdf http://www.first4maths.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Garden-Maths.pdf

As we have said previously, please don't put yourselves under any pressure at all to complete the home learning ideas we are giving you, but they are there if and when you would like to try them smiley

Missing you all. Take care,

Mrs Riley and Mrs Starsiak
