Hello Hatchmere

Another busy week in our class as we settle more into school life and all the challenges that brings. This week the children have attended our whole school Collective Worship and have sat and listened beautifully. We were very proud of them. We have started our Phonic lessons and the children have been writing and recognising the letter s. We have had some lovely stories from our home reading books and the children have enjoyed acting out the story of the Gruffalo. the children have thoroughly enjoyed the different activities we have been doing outside in the lovely weather. Please see the attached pictures to see how busy the children have been already.

Next week we will be starting a new topic which hopefully the children will be able to talk to you about after our surprise on Tuesday (Shh! keep it a secret). Next week will also be our first full attempt at PE which is always interesting as we tend to spend more time getting undressed, dressed, undressed and then dressed again than we do doing actual PE! You can help with this process by letting your children get dressed and undressed by themselves every day. This is an important skill for your child to achieve and will help them feel confident about their own abilities. If you haven’t yet sent in a named PE kit in a drawstring bag please send it in on Tuesday.
