Hello Hatchmere

What a hot week we have had.  Thank you to those parents who have sent the children in with hats and sun lotion on.  This is very important at this time of year as we do like to spend quite a bit of time outside.  Please can I ask that you send in a reusable water bottle as the children are drinking quite a bit at the moment and the reusable ones can be topped up during the day. We have been practising our Minion dance every day this week as our ‘Wake Up and Shake Up’ in the morning.  I know the children are going to show a real ‘Passion for Life’ at our Delamere Street Festival this weekend. Please remember if you have a yellow top that your child can wear on the day that would be lovely.

The children have been getting to know our new book ‘Saving Mr Hoot’ and exploring the vocabulary in the story.  We are taking part in a Winsford wide writing Exhibition where our work and the work of other schools will be displayed.  I will let you know more information when we know more.    Well done to Sebastian for being the first child in Hatchmere to receive his gold reading star.  I know we have a few more children close behind but with only a few weeks left till the end of term we need to get those reading stars.

We have been out on the field practising for our Sports Day on Thursday and the children have listened to the instructions carefully and even managed to race within their lines.  No wipe outs so far!

In Maths we have been exploring number bonds to five and the patterns of numbers. We have been using the rekenreks and numicon to practically see the relationship between the numbers.  The children have been looking at more formal methods of addition and have been creating simple sentences.

Please see the plan below for what we aspire to achieve next week and some photographs of the fun we have had this week.  We are looking forward to see you on Saturday for our minion dance.
