Hatchmere Class Blog 28.1.22

Hello Hatchmerians!

This week in Hatchmere we have been creating our very own characters and thinking where they might like to go on a bus journey. We had a dinosaur that is going to Jurassic Park, a cat visiting a mouse shop and a unicorn going to see some fireworks! We have also been interviewing some disgruntled customers of the Naughty Bus! How did you feel? Where were you going? What will you do now?

Our Mathematicians have been exploring weight and using the scales have discovered which object is the heaviest and which is the lightest. The children were also challenged to balance two pieces of playdough…will they weigh the same? In addition to weighing, Hatchmere have also discovered the number bonds needed to make 5…can they tell you them?

The children are becoming expert gymnasts! They can tell you how important it is to warm up before exercising and how it helps our bodies to wake up in preparation. Some children are telling us how they have been practising their gymnastic shapes at home, which is fantastic news! Our Dance lessons now have ‘expert’ dancers leading the way at the front of the class, they are inspiring their classmates to listen to the beat, work hard at remembering the dance steps and how to persevere when the moves get a bit tricky. We all love our dance sessions!

In other Hatchmere news, it seems as though our classroom has fallen into disrepair, but never fear, we have some children conducting essential maintenance. Can you spot who they are in the pictures below?

Please see the attachment for next weeks planning.
