Hatchmere Class Blog 8.11.21

Hello Hatchmerians

For a four-day week we sure had a busy time last week.  The highlight of the week was our Autumn walk to Knights Grange.  The children were brilliant.  They were so well behaved, and they loved being out in the park.  Not one child moaned about how far they had to walk-although there was some concern that we might not make it back for lunch!

As it was Parliament Week we looked at democracy and linked it to our British Values and the importance of voting.  The children voted on several crucial issues (which story to end the day with and which song to sing) during the week.  This also tied in nicely with our look at Bonfire Night and the history of this event. Please have a look at the photographs below.

On Tuesday we will be taking a picture of the class for the local newspaper-before PE!  This week we are looking at why we wear poppies and what Remembrance Day is.  Please see the parent plan below for further details.

See you all tomorrow.
