Phew....it has been a warm couple of days in Hatchmere.
Well done to another Gold Reading Badge holder! They have shown at least 140 instances of reading at home since September. Another child, who has not been with us for very long has already received their Bronze Badge for reading at least 40 times at home since they joined us. Reading superstars!!
The Evil Pea has been tormenting us this week! He is causing such a kafuffle in our classroom! Never fear…I am not worried one little bit because I have met Super Speedy Runner, Starlight, Spider Girl, and so many other Hatchmerian Superheroes. I know they will find a way to trap Evil Pea and put an end to his very naughty deeds!
The children danced their hearts out at this week danceathon, we had the best time! Hatchmere is full of movers and shakers and our love for dancing shined brightly. They did such an amazing job. Many thanks to our Hatchmerian families for their very generous donations. It is being counted up as we speak. Hopefully, next week we will have some very good news about iPads….fingers crossed.
This week Hatchmere have written their comments to add to their very first school reports. They wrote a sentence about what they have enjoyed in Hatchmere and what they hope to learn in Sandymere, I am excited for you all to read them.
Our number bond splatters have been hard at work in our Outside Classroom splatting number bonds to 5 and 10. Our aim has improved throughout the week! The children were using their number sentences to explain which numbers they had hit and what they equal (4 and 1 makes 5, double 5 is 10).
This afternoon we decided that instead of getting hot and bothered in P.E we would have a well-being spa afternoon in the outside classroom. We soaked our feet in some cool water and listened quietly to the birds, followed by a story. A very calm and relaxing way to finish a hot and sticky Friday.
Enjoy the weekend….there has been lots of talk of paddling pools being blown up at home in the classroom today, so have fun!
