Hatchmere's Class Blog 4.3.22

Welcome back Hatchmere!

We've had lots to celebrate this week!

The children returned and we set about dramatising the events of the school holidays. The children acted their events out and we had to guess what they were! We had swimming, visiting a classmate, building a new bed, walking to Nannies and going to the Zoo. They then went and wrote all about it. What a fab half term everyone had.

Shrove Tuesday was a great succes. The children learned all about it's history and were challenged to carefully follow instructions to make their own pancakes. They were thouroughly enjoyed at the end of the day with some yummy toppings.

We have been exploring our World Book Day book, The Day the Crayons Quit! Hatchmere wrote to their favourite colour and explained to them how much they liked them and let them know that some of their favourite things were blue/green/pink/brown/yellow/white. They produced some fabulous writing that will go on display in our classroom.

On Thursday all of our colours came though the door to create a Hatchmere box of crayons! The children were inspired to really immerse themselves in the day. There were lots of stories, crafts and even an after-school story session with Mrs Snowdon to read the sequel of our focus World Book Day text. There were free books, biscuits and juice alongside comfy cushions and benches to escape the deluge outside. It was a really special event.

We very much look forward to next week! Please look at the planning attached for further details.
