Hatchmere's Class Blog 5.7.24

I think it is fair to say that Hatchmere have achieved quite a lot this week!
The children used their describing skills to explain what Supertato looks and what he is like as a hero. They were able to demonstrate confident use of a capital letter and full stop alongside their beautiful handwriting. It is wonderful to see the children take such pride in their presentation.
In maths the children have been exploring the pattern of counting up to and beyond 20. We have played lots of counting games going forwards and backwards and the children are so good at it, I haven't been able to catch them out...yet! They have been showing me what they know about numbers, it is amazing how many different things they can tell me about the number 5 (odd number, 1 more than 4, 1 less than 6, 3+2 = 5, 5+0 =5, double 5 is 10).
Thank you to all who came along to support the children at their craft afternoon. It was a fantastic afternoon and all involved thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope no Evil Peas followed you home to cause havoc! A big thank you must also go to our Blakemerian children who also came along to support the children and they even stayed to help tidy up after everyone had left. Absolute superstars and, I am sure you will agree, the epitome of our school vision 'Let your light shine before others' Matthew 5:16.
The majority of Hatchmere attended last nights Leavers Disco. Every single child danced with their friends on the dancefloor, enjoying the confidence of standing right at the front and dancing to the songs we have practised in the class room. I am so proud!
Fingers crossed for the paddling pool afternoon next Wednesday! See you next week.
