Hatchmere's Class Blog 5.9.25

We have had a fabulous first week in Hatchmere!
I am sure you can see from the photo’s below that the children have settled into ‘big school’ beautifully and are enjoying all aspects of it.
This week and next week the classroom activities will have a clear routines and expectations focused timetable. The children have been and will continue to be supported as they get used to navigating their day, the tools available to support them and developing friendships in the class. Next week we will be reading The Colour Monster to help them to understand how they may be feeling, why, and that it’s OK.
Our class dance has been a huge hit and Hatchmere have proudly showed off their dance moves each morning. I have included the link below so that you can dance along with them if you like….why not get the whole family involved! We would love it if you emailed in a picture to share with the class.
We have learned some Nursery Rhymes along with their actions; Miss Polly Had A Dolly; Ring ‘O’ Roses; I’m A Little Teapot and Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush. Why don’t you ask them for a little performance?
Whilst the children have very much enjoyed their outside activities of digging, climbing, riding bikes, building, dancing, throwing and catching (phew, I’m tired just thinking about it) they are actually developing their gross motor skills. This will support their physical development, emotional development and feed directly into their ability to do some of the trickier things in the classroom like getting dressed and undressed, doing up zips and buttons and drawing/writing. Don’t tell them that though…it’s all so much fun!!
A few things to remember:
- Flat Book Bags (this is so they fit in their dedicated book boxes and pegs can be reserved for coats)
- At home time, please come forward to the bottom of ramp to collect your child as they come to the front of the queue
- From Monday, Mrs Teece and Miss Dyson will be there to support the children as they come through the gate independently
- E kits will be needed next week as the children will be changing (please clearly name EVERYTHING)
