Hatchmere's Class Blog 6.12.24

Date: 5th Dec 2024 @ 9:56am

We have had a lovely week in Hatchmere.

The children have really enjoyed sharing what they like to eat for breakfast. Some children have discovered the ‘ee’ sound by Green Froggy and used this sound in their writing when they have written the word ‘eat’. Using this sound in their writing would mean that the word ‘eet’ is phonetically plausible and considered an age appropriate ‘correct’ spelling. Just what we like to see in Hatchmere.

In maths the children have been using multilink to create different patterns. We discovered that the bigger the number the more patterns we could create. We have had lots of fun with our friends showing different representations of the numbers 3,4 and 5.

Our Stormscapes are coming on beautifully. We have used collage to create a base for our picture and will then paint it using stormy colours. They are looking very effective. We took the opportunity this week to talk about the upcoming Storm Darragh and the children will be watching out for those stormy skies.

Our elbow partners have been working together this week to give Plan Ahead Bruce some advice. They wanted Bruce to ‘share the pinecone’, ‘share your food’, ‘be kind’. We have such thoughtful children.
