Welcome back Hatchmere!

We have hit the ground running this week! The children have been writing about their favourite Christmas gift. There writing has included finger spaces, some descriptive words and the connective ‘and’. Their writing is developing beautifully.

You may have heard all about the class counting the vehicles that passed our school. They used a tally chart to help mark down each passing car/van/motorbike/bus/bicycle/lorry. Discuss with your child which mode of transport they saw the most/least of and which ones that we didn’t see at all.

Thank you to those families that have sent in resources for us to create our ‘junk model’ vehicles. We have begun making them this week and will continue next week. All vehicles will be proudly on display within the classroom.

As you have probably gleaned from this blog, our spring term topic of Transport and Journeys has been introduced to the children. They have had lots of fun with some new class resources to investigate and topical texts to explore. Next week we will be introducing the new focus book, so listen out for your child talking about a certain ‘type’ of bus!
