Hatchmere's Class Blog 6.2.26
Date: 5th Feb 2026 @ 3:01pm
Hatchmere have been ‘On Fire Maguire’ this week with their learning, I am so proud of their progress!
We have been having lots of fun on our bus tour of London. The children used their tickets to board the bus and said Good Morning and thanked our lovely bus driver. They then walked down the aisle to choose their seats. The Bus Driver has taken us to the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, The London Underground, for a boat ride on the River Thames and to Tower Bridge. Hatchmere have been taking this learning into their play and have, by themselves, visited lots of real and imaginary places.
Our P.E coach was once again blown away by Hatchmere’s behaviour for learning as they listened carefully to instructions and advice and then applied their learning to their tasks. It is always so lovely to hear positive feedback from other adults (I know my Hatchmerians are fabulous) when they are teaching the children. Everybody was awarded raffle tickets for letting their light shine in P.E!
Our budding architects have created lots of the famous London Landmarks using different mediums in our Outside Classroom. As you can see from the pictures below the children were enthusiastic about using their ‘artistic eye’ to build and develop. Excellent teamwork was on display and Hatchmere were so proud of their work. Well done Hatchmere.
Our wonderful artists have had a go at drawing various London Landmarks and i know the Hatchmere Team have been absolutely blown away by how amazing these all look. The children have even been using their writing skills to label their pictures...WOW! Can they show you which one is theirs?
We have explored the numbers 6 and 7 and found that they are ‘5 and a little bit’. The children have been so smart in figuring out that 6 and 7 have their own number bonds too. Hatchmere really enjoy being number detectives and finding hidden numbers in the whole. Can they show you how fast they can count to 6 or 7 on their fingers? Remind them to use their ‘fast five’ and count on.
