Hatchmere's Class Blog 6.9.24
Date: 6th Sep 2024 @ 3:41pm
Hello and welcome to your first Hatchmere blog.
Please may I ask that all children have named waterproof coats in school, everyday, next week. The weather looks a little cooler with some rain.
The children have had a fabulous start to school this week and have been busy having lots of fun and outside play. As you can see from the pictures below they have really enjoyed themselves.
Hatchmere have also began to take part in the basic routines of the classroom independently (with adults to support if required):
Toileting and handwashing
Preparing themselves for snack
Tidying away the toys they were playing with
Organising their things for hometime.
This week I have introduced The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas to the whole class, and they have talked about their different feelings and given examples of when they may have felt a bit like The Colour Monster. Next week we will do more focused work around this book to understand our emotions and why we feel that way. There are some emotions that do not feel very nice (feeling upset, anger, fear) and I would like to empower the children to seek support if they ever feel this way.
Next week in Hatchmere the children will continue to settle into the routines of the classroom including organising/sorting their morning things into their classroom homes (coat, water bottle and bookbags). I will also conduct the Government required ‘Baseline’. More information about this can be found here: Parent Information on Baseline ;In a nutshell, the children come with me to a quiet space, we play some fun games, have a lovely time and after a couple of minutes they return to the classroom to play with their friends.
Have a lovely weekend and lets hope we see a bit more of the sun.
