Hatchmere's Class Blog and WORLD BOOK DAY 7.3.25
Date: 6th Mar 2025 @ 9:41am
This week has whizzed by!
Congratulations to another Hatchmerian who has gained their Bronze Reading Award for reading 4x week over 10 weeks. Would you believe that the silver awards are beginning next week? There are 2 Hatchmerians who are in line to receive one and we are all excited to find who they are. For a Silver Award the children must have read and recorded 4 instances of reading a week over 25 weeks (100 recorded times since September).
Welcome to another new Hatchmerian! The children have been busy making them feel so welcome and showing them the ropes. They have shown that they are excellent role models for our ‘friendship’ class Christian value.
Hatchmere enjoyed our pancake snack session on Monday. I was so proud that every child tried one! We had lemon, sugar, honey, chocolate and strawberry toppings. Some children even tried a mixture of toppings....Mrs Teece enjoyed a lemon and sugar one, yum, yum. Thank you to Miss Dyson for fetching in her crepe maker and acting as head chef for the occasion.
Have you heard the news? We have a Bog Baby in our outside classroom. We discovered it on Tuesday morning and the children have been buzzing with excitement ever since. As part of their writing task this week, Hatchmere have been using their describing skills to explain what a Bog Baby looks....can they describe the Bog Baby to you?
WORLD BOOK was a huge hit! The children looked amazing in their outfits, and we got a brilliant class photo (below). Our space-themed day saw us making space-scapes, inviting a Martian to Earth to do something exciting, moon-boot walking and taking part in an astronaut dance. Our class inspiration was the fantastic ‘The Way Back Home’ by Oliver Jeffers.
Enjoy your weekend and we will see you next week.
