Hatchmere's Class Blog 12.12.2.5

Date: 9th Dec 2025 @ 2:06pm

The children have been practicing their performance for our Carol Concert next week, you are all certainly in for a treat! We are so excited for all of our adults to join us as we re-tell The Nativity Story.

Hatchmere were able to independently write about Goldilocks and all of her mistakes. They gathered the equipment they needed to support their work (sound mats, HFW/CEW) and completed some beautiful writing - ‘She went into the house’, ‘She ate the food’, ‘She broke the chair’ and ‘She went to sleep'. All of the children have shown fantastic progress with their writing; I am very proud of them.

Our Maths activities have been so much fun this week! We have created our own numberlines to take home, made paper chains out of 1, then 2 then 3 then 4 and ordered them from shortest to longest. The children noticed that the more paperchains they used the longer the chain got. Our number formation is coming along nicely and after Christmas we will begin practicing forming numbers up to and including 10.

I have not created a learning plan for next week as our festive activities take up much of our time.

Tue aft – Carol Service Rehearsal

Wed aft –Christmas dinner and then Carol Service at church (adults collecting children from church)

Thurs morn – Panto

Fri morn – Class Christmas party games – School Day ends at 2pm
