Hatchmere's Class Blog

Date: 3rd Mar 2023 @ 3:11pm

.As you can see from the pictures below we have had a very busy first week back.

Hatchmere have explored the school grounds for the signs of spring that are beginning to emerge. We looked at the daffodils and crocuses and upcoming tulips. Some of our beady eyed gardeners noticed the buds that have started to appear on the trees and various vines.

In Literacy we have started to explore new vocabulary surrounding ponds, creatures and Spring. This vocabulary will ensure that the children are able to fully access our new focus text that is being introduced next week.

Our Mathematicians have been challenged to work on the concept of 1 more and 1 less. This is an essential aspect of number work as helps the children to grasp ordinality and  place value.

Our World Book Day topic of ‘Dragons’ was hugely popular and Hatchmere have thoroughly enjoyed reading stories based on dragons, making dragon masks so that they may take part in a Dragon hunt and talking about their various objects that they brought in from home related to dragons.

Please see the attached PDF for next weeks learning plan.
