Head Teacher Blog: Friday 17th May 2019

Date: 17th May 2019 @ 2:32pm

A huge well done to our children in Year 6 who have completed their SATs papers this week. Throughout the week, they have been calm, focussed and extremely hardworking – they appear to have taken it all in their stride! We are all very proud of how they have approached this week and feel very confident that every child has done their very best. What more can we ask? Thank you Year 6 – enjoy the weekend!

Sports Day is just around the corner...Thursday 20th June. The children have started practising and they're really looking forward to joining in and trying their best. Please do join us if you can. KS1 will be racing in the morning and KS2 in the afternoon. Please may you ensure that your child comes to school with their PE kit whenever it's their day for PE as we can't let children take part in sporting activities without the appropriate kit, for health and safety reasons? Thank you.

Thank you to all who were able to attend Parent’s Evening this week. It was so lovely to see so many faces. I know that there were a few emotional moments from some of our Year 6 parents as it was the last one for their children! We hope that you found this extra Parent’s Evening useful to keep you further informed as to your child’s progress, alongside the new assessment information that we send home at the end of each term. Feedback from parents has been very positive and so we will look to make it a permanent feature on our calendar.

This week, we have joined ‘The Red Box Project’. The Red Box Project is a community-based, not-for-profit initiative, which aims to support young people throughout their periods by providing red boxes filled with free period products to local schools. We have had our first delivery and any of our girls are most welcome to use this valuable resource, should they need to. The box is located in the upstairs toilets - please could adults chat to their children about this, where necessary. Thank you.

#WakeUpWednesday have out together a free Roblox guide for parents. Roblox is ‘the largest interactive social platform for play’ according to the makers. Please take a look at the following poster to see what you can do to support your children when playing Roblox. https://nationalonlinesafety.com/resources/wake-up-wednesday/roblox-parents-guide/

Please find attached some information from Cheshire Constabulary for any adults who may be considering working for the police.
