Tattenhall Residential

The children in Year 3 and 4 have had a fabulous couple of days at the Tattenhall Centre on their residential. The days have been action packed including willow weaving, jungle camp and camp fires and the weather has been very kind to them whilst there. The children have been fantastic and represented the school really well. A big thank you to Mrs Riley, Miss Dyson and Mrs Roche for volunteering their time away from their own families to take the children, otherwise such activities would not be able to go ahead. Also, thank you to Miss Pile who joined them team to support them for the day today.

Sports Day

Didn’t we just know that after having such gorgeous weather for so long, there’s nothing like suggesting a Sports Day to make it rain?! Typically British!

We now have our alternative Sports Day on 5th and 7th July (see message previously sent) and children may once again come to school on their designated day in their spots kit - please be reminded that this is black shorts/ jogging bottoms and their plain coloured t-shirt in their team colour. If you do not have a plain coloured t-shirt, please send your child in their normal white t-shirt and we will give them a coloured team sticker.

We are keeping all our fingers and toes crossed for the weather as we will be unable to squeeze one in anywhere else this term.

Wake Up Wednesday

Reuters reports that ChatGPT is the fastest-growing consumer app in history, with around 13 million users per day. Given those sorts of figures, it’s no surprise that a host of AI imitators have arrived, with many being grafted onto existing social networking platforms.

This week’s #WakeUpWednesday guide looks at the type of AI-powered online companions proving popular with younger users and highlights what trusted adults need to know about these ‘virtual friends’.

DFest

We are very much looking forward to the Delamere Street Festival tomorrow where Hatchmere are joining the opening parade and doing a very special dance performance of ‘I Just Can’t to be King.’ It is shaping up to be a fabulous free family event – we’ll see you there!

School Dinners

School dinners cost £2.70 per day, £13.50 per week. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive free meals as part of the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme.  Dinner money must be paid in advance via School Spider as we do not accept cash in school.

If you are in receipt of benefits and think that you may be entitled to free school meals, please click here for more information and support and how to apply. It is very important to apply for free schools meals whatever year your child is in, even if you receive the UIFSM in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, as the school receives a sum of extra money to further help support your child and their education.

Absence during Term Time

Please may I remind you that schools are not allowed to authorise pupil holidays in term time. Any child going on holiday in term time will receive an unauthorised absence. Our registers are regularly checked by the Education Welfare Service and parents may be issued with a fine from the Local Authority for unauthorised absence, which is currently £60 per child, per parent and this rises to £120 if paid after 21 days but within 28 days.
