Head Teacher Blog: Tuesday 16th June 2020

Date: 16th Jun 2020 @ 9:34am

As I write, although the weather is extremely gloomy outside, spirits are lifted in school as we have been able to open more widely this week for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 (who start tomorrow - Wednesday). I can feel school coming back to life again with each extra child that steps over our threshold and it has been a joy to see the smiles and hear of the excitement about coming back to school. As yet, I do not know if we will be able to accomodate children from Years 2 - 5 as all our staff and classrooms are now in use with the bubbles that we have in school, but the Senior Leadership Team will keep reading all the guidance that is sent out on a daily basis from the Department for Education and reviewing our risk assessment and plans to see if this is in any way possible.

I hope that you managed to get chance to watch Eddie's Collective Worship last week. Those in school all watched in at 9am on Wednesday and one of the bubles in school used it as inspiration to write some prayers of hope. Did anyone try Eddie's craft? This week, we will be watching the Collective Worship at 10am instead of 9am, as our new staggered start to the mornings means that not everyone is in school by 9am. Please do join in at home at 10am on Wednesday 17th June using this link and know that everyone in school is doing the same thing at the same time.

We have had a couple of questions with regards to class teachers in September and who children will have when they return to school. For 'normal' school life, these have been organised and will come out to parents with your child's end of year report, as they usually do, which will be e mailed to you this year on Friday 10th July.

Please do not hesitate to contact school if you have any queries or concerns.

Take care,

Mrs E Snowdon
