Hi everyone,

We hope you have all enjoyed a nice weekend in the warm, sunny weather. It was so lovely speaking to so many of you last week when we made our telephone calls! I loved the way lots of you sounded so surprised -  I would have been too as it's not every day your teacher phones you!

One thing I spoke to some of you and your parents about is our trial subscription to 2 fantastic maths resources - Numbots and Timestable Rockstars. They really are worth having a go at and I think once you've started, you'll be hooked! Numbots is aimed at younger children but could be worth having a go at if you need to brush up on basic skills. Timestable Rockstars is all about knowing your times tables fluently and by heart, which really is a life-long skill that helps you through SO many elements of maths - just ask a Year 6 child and they'll tell you! So the sooner you know them, the better. The games may seem easy at first (or hard, depending on where you're up to) but depending on how you perform in the first few games, the programme will begin to tailor the games to your areas of need. The key is speed. You need to answer each question as quickly as possible in order to move on. As class teachers, we are now able to log in to review your progress and see who is actually accessing this fantastic resource, so it would be amazing if we can get every member on there by the end of the week! Also, as you progress you can challenge one another to duals which sounds like fun for those of you who enjoy some friendly competition.

So, I'll be logging in on Friday this week to see how many more of you have signed in and how you're getting on...If anyone has misplaced their login details, please just email the school office and we will send them over to you again.
