A Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break.

In Maths, Linmere have been focusing on long multiplication. Year 4's have been multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by a 1 digit number, using formal written methods. Year 5's have multiplying numbers with up to 4 digits by 1 and 2 digit numbers, also using formal written methods.

In English, we have been learning how to create images in poetry. This week we studied similes, metaphors and the use of adverbs in poetry and then wrote our own poems.

Our Science topic this half term is light. We are really looking forward to becoming 'light experts' and carrying out some exciting science experiments over the next 5 weeks.
