Linmere 12.7.19

What a lovely ‘Welcome Back’ I have had from the lovely children in Linmere this week! It has been a very busy but enjoyable week and I have been so impressed by how far the children have come since I was last in class at the end of September.

Our focus in the second half of this week has been around our Art and Design & Technology project: designing and making Viking Longboats. The children have experimented with tie-dye techniques when adding colour to the sails and we used natural dyes (beetroot, red/brown onions, spinach) in keeping with the Viking period. We have also begun looking at cam mechanisms as we are aiming to make our boat models move next week!
