Linmere week beginning 04.09.17

Date: 10th Sep 2017 @ 10:12pm

We have had a lovely first week back in school and it was fantastic to see everyone return with such enthusiasm and confidence.

This week we have concentrated on getting to know each other and finding out about what we all did during the summer holiday. It certainly sounded like everyone had a great break.

Together we came up with a class contract that all Linmere pupils and staff have signed to show that they agree to abide the rules set.

The children also spent some time writing postcards and letters to their teachers as well as describing themselves in mathematical terms – ask them about “figure me out!” Some of these pieces of work will go into our time capsule, along with a self portrait, hand and foot measurements, a newspaper and photographs. We will then open the time capsule at the end of the year to see how much we have grown and changed.

We also found time to begin some displays relating to our personalities and our community.

Towards the end of the week the children devised and wrote their own prayers which are now proudly on display in our class prayer book.

Year 4 have had letters regarding swimming and year 5 pupils have had a letter about starting to learn the violin. Please can you ensure you complete and send back any paperwork relating to these activities.

Well done to Stella who was our first “Star of the week”. Congratulations to Sam, Jack, Evelyn and Brooke who all celebrated and shared their beautiful work in assembly on Friday.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week.

Mrs Riley and Mrs Starsiak.
