Linmere's weekly blog 10/11/23

This week saw Linmere engaging in lots of work around Rememberance. 

For this work, the children walked around Winsford and looked at the war memorials in the town centre and surronding area. At each memorial, the children drew a picture, looked at the names and what conflict the war memorial was linked too. We also discussed the importance of each memorial and how they are used by Winsford to remember the fallen soliders. 

The children also did some work based around parliament this week and we discussed what a debate looked like at the House of Commons and the House of Lords. In these lessons, the children got to debate an issue in similar way to the House of Commons and some of them got the chance to be the speaker (the person in charge of the debate).
