Linmere's weekly news 10.9.23

The first week is done and dusted and children have come into Linmere  with a great attitude. 

During the first week, the children have worked hard and have done some good work in all the subjects we've covered. In English, the children were introduced to our new book 'Where The Forest Meets The Sea' and they looked at writing sentences about Daintree Forest in these sessions. Maths this week involved the children learning how to make numbers to 100 using Roman numerals and some of the year 5s began making numbers to one thousand. 

A standout lesson from this week was our science lesson and it was great to see the children get thoroughly involved in their new materials unit. For this session, the children looked at sorting different materials into three groups: solids, liquids and gases. The children were fantastic at this and it was great for me to see their previous knowledge come out in this session.
