19.5.16 Sandymere Learning Update

Date: 19th May 2016 @ 9:53am

Sandymere class are SO lucky! They now have a new interactive TV - it is an amazing resource and we will definitley benefit from its wide ranging interactive features!

The children had a lovely day on Monday creating some gorgeous under the sea art with Mrs Jones.  They used wax and inks to create some colourful sea creatures.  The walls of the classroom look gorgeous!

In maths we have been reinforcing our skills in number bonds to 20 and ordering numbers to 100. We really enjoyed playing the number bonds game on the interactive TV - perhaps they'd like to play this game at home? http://www.mathplayground.com/number_bonds_20.html

In Literacy we have continued our superhero theme and have been working on creating our own superheroes with a focus on using verbs to write about their super powers. The children are then going to create cartoons about superheroes with a focus on exclamation marks and using full stops correctly.

In science the children have enjoyed exploring their senses. None of the children could sniff out the marmite though!

In computing we have looked at using PicCollage and took photographs of each other and added captions.  The children were very confident and we used these skills to create a collage for our Uganda link.

A great week with a lot acheived.  Well done children.
