Oakmere 18.06.21

It’s been another hot and busy week in Oakmere. The children have been really enthused about learning to tell the time and it’s been lovely to see so many of them coming into school wearing watches and practicing their new skill. They’re certainly making sure we keep to schedule and are often telling us what time it is! We did find that telling the time “to the next hour” was a bit trickier than minutes past the hour.

In English we looked at another refugee story (Ziba came on a boat) and wrote an opening paragraph as well as conversation between characters. We were extremely impressed with both the level of language being used and the accurate use of inverted commas. Well done, Oakmere!

Due to the dry weather PE lessons have continued out on the field. This half term we are looking at developing our athletic skills. Over the last few Fridays, the children have learnt more about sprinting and pace.

Have a great weekend.
