Hello lovely Oakmere!

How are you all doing this week? Has anyone tried out BBC Bitesize? I thought yesterday's geography lesson was a really good recap of the work we have done this year on maps! If you haven't had a look so far, why not give it a go? Also on the BBC website, for Friday's English lesson for Year 3 and 4 is some poetry by Allen Ahlberg. I know you love poetry and you were all getting so good at performing with expression when you read aloud, so you might enjoy this lesson.

Did you know that today has been 'Earth Day'? For those of you interested in our wonderful planet, you might like to have a look at this National Geographic site to find out about all sorts of fascinating things. You could learn more about plastic pollution; some amazing animals that need our help (polar bears, turtles, orangutans); oceans, rainforests and the arctic; and of course climate change. Perhaps you could do some research using the links on the website and make a poster or leaflet showing what you find out? We would love to see some of the wonderful things you have been doing once we get back to school!

Finally, for those of you who enjoy a spot of cooking, I have attached a Cooking with Maths resource below. Hopefully you can cook up some tasty treats while keeping your maths skills up to scratch! Remember, Year 3 you are aiming to know your 3, 4 and 8 times tables (as well as 2, 5 and 10 from Year 2) by heart and Year 4 you have the fun job of practising all of them - from the 2's to the 12's! Please keep playing games and practising these while you are at home.

Stay safe everyone,

Mrs Riley and Mrs Starsiak smiley
