Oakmere 5th February 2021

Date: 5th Feb 2021 @ 1:18pm

This week has been slightly different as we have focussed on wellbeing.

As mentioned in Mrs Riley’s blog we had an amazing day in school on Wednesday. Looking at and reading through the emails sent in we know those of you at home enjoyed it too. It was so lovely to see all the different activities you completed and to hear how much you appreciated you having a day away from a screen. In the words of one parent:

“Yesterday was fantastic I didn't realise how much we use screens. It was so nice to turn them off and do things together.

Although the week is now coming to an end please don’t forget to still take the time to enjoy some of these activities and look after your own mental health and wellbeing.

We have been up to lots of other things too. In English we have continued looking at The Tin Forest and used this to help us write instructions and dialogue. Well done to everyone who submitted some work from home following these sessions. We were really impressed with what we read.

Our maths work continued to focus on multiplication – don’t worry if you found this tricky you weren’t alone! We do try to go over a few concepts during our live sessions so hopefully that helps a little. Please also remember to watch the maths videos as these do guide you through worksheets / questions set.

Mrs Riley and I have also had the chance to listen to some of you read this week as we started our 1 to 1 reading sessions.  Don’t panic if we haven’t contacted you yet we are working our way down the list so please do keep your eyes open for the Teams invite.

Attached to the blog are our excellent examples for this week – you really are making it hard for us to choose!

Thank you once again for all your kind words. Please know that we too think of you all at home and look forward to welcoming you back when we can. Until then – keep going, you’re all amazing and doing a fantastic job.

Enjoy the weekend.
