Hello.

Let’s hope the weather stays this nice for the weekend.

In English this week we have been working on our Diary entry and ensuring we use our noun phrases and conjunctions correctly.  We have had some lovely sentences.  The children have been carefully proof reading the sentences for spelling mistakes and then using the dictionaries and spelling books to correct any mistakes.  Next week we will be finishing off our diary entry and starting to look at letters of application as our heroine applies for a job at the Space Agency.

In Maths, we will continue to work on the three times table and the children will be given a times table test each Friday.  Next week we will be estimating on a number line, counting in fifties and hundreds and placing numbers on a number line.

In Science we are looking at skeletons and their purpose in protecting our squishy bits and helping us move around.  The children will be looking at the different skeletons we find in our world.  In History we are going to be creating our own mummies and exploring the importance of the mummification process both from a historical and cultural point of view.  In RE we continue to explore the Bah’ai world religion and this we are looking at the active role they play in their local communities.  In PE we are working hard with our coaches.  I was very impressed with the children’s pike and straddle jumps this week in Gymnastics.

In Art we will be starting our big piece of artwork where the children take everything we have explode over the half term and created their own unique piece of art.  This final piece will take several weeks to complete.  In Music we will be getting the xylophones out so we can accompany our places song.

Have a great weekend.
