Oakmere end of half term

Date: 16th Feb 2018 @ 9:27pm

What a fabulous half term we have had in Oakmere! I must say that I am incredibly proud of the children and all they have achieved this half term. The children have produced some excellent information reports on volcanoes. They have written about what volcanoes are, how and why they erupt and where you can find them in the world.

We have also started to explore our new topic - The Battle of Britain. The children have worked extremely hard to produce some excellent cinquain poems about a Spitfire plane or pilot. They have also drawn and watercoloured their very own Spitfire plane. Take a look at our topic page to see some of the fabuloue work produced.

Finally, the children wrote passages to explain how and why World War Two began. As part of this we listened to the war announcement delivered by Neville Chamberlain in 1939. Some children then went on to write the the war annoucement as Neville Chamberlain. Their recordings are also on the topic.

Well done Oakmere. As always you have been fabulous. Enjoy your half term and I shall see you on Tuesday 27th February. Remember to keep checking our page for updates about what is happening after half term.
