Good afternoon,

Once more, this has been a very busy week! In Literacy, the children have had to write a substantial amount but have shown courage and confidence in doing so. They have written a recount that Mrs Riley was very impressed with and a fabulous letter with Mrs Winder. Both these pieces of writing included paragraphs and challenging vocabulary – these have been targets in our writing so we are incredibly proud of the children.

Science brought some fun in the form of physical exercise to test the strength of our leg muscles – the children have understood the importance of conducting a fair test and been respectful of each other’s results.

Today, we had our individual photos taken today, I’m sure they’ll look very different to the last ones we got to take before Covid!

Yesterday, we had a fire drill – it was the first in a very long time and we were extremely impressed with how sensible the children were during this time. We were able to get everyone out in record time and know that in the event of a real fire, the children know how to keep themselves safe.

This week, we have had a lot of absences – after the last 18 months, our children’s immune systems are down so many are suffering from all sorts of ailments – we wish them a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them back in class, hopefully on Monday.

Enjoy a restful weekend and we’ll see you next week.

The Oakmere Team.
