And just like that, it is half term!

Well, we can honestly say that the children have earned their break! We are very pleased on the whole of the children's work this half term - we have seen a lot of progress already.

This week, we have finished our unit in Literacy which was in the form of a big write, where children wrote a letter over a few days. We are pleased of the results, they have used paragraphs and have made an effort with using more varied vocabulary and prepositions. Their handwriting is also beautiful - we are very pleased with how well the children take advise on - we are hoping to be giving Pen Licenses soon!

In Maths, we have found taking away more of a challenge but today's lesson showed good understanding - if you can practise any counting backwards at home, it would be very beneficial.

Thank you so much to you all for taking the time to join us at parents' evening - it was a pleasure to see or meet you all.

Parents' evening raised a few questions so we hope you find these helpful:

  • your child's TTrockstar login is at the front of their reading records.
  • remind your child that they can do TTrockstar independently.
  • we have currently limited "garage" to the 2, 5 and 10 times tables but we are looking at changing this after half term.
  • both reading and TTrockstar are our homework and we ask that the children do them a minimum of 4 times a week.
  • children can enter the date and book title in their reading diaries so you only need to sign it - we can only go by what is in the diaries to check on the children's reading.

Have a restful holiday, make sure your child has plenty of sleep so they are ready for the next half term.
