Oakmere Friday News

Date: 10th Dec 2021 @ 8:44pm

Here's to another week in beautiful Oakmere!

Firstly, I must apologise over the confusion about the Christmas Jumpers! It was entirely my fault so I hope it didn't cause too much distress at home! Our Christmas Jumper Day will be held on Thursday 16th, Panto day! What a better way to get in the Christmas spirit!

This week, we have celebrated Interfaith Week with a lot of activities and Zoom meetings to learn about a variety of faiths. Oakmere were fortunate enough to have a lesson on Buddhism, Unitarianism and the Baha'i faith. They shared their learning during an interactive Collective Worship today, the children showed such confidence standing in front of everyone, well done! In class, we also explored how Christianity is celebrated in France, the children created a poster and did an absolutely amazing job at drawing Notre Dame de Paris, the famous cathedral in the centre of Paris. I'll leave you to be the judge of their work when you look at the pictures.

With the Christmas holiday fast approaching, we took some time this week to complete some tasks such as our research on a specific animal's diet and teeth and our work on Fair Trade.

We have a busy week coming up, don't forget the Christmas Concert on Tuesday (please refer to other blogs for details on Covid restrictions), the children have been working hard and will be pleased to see you there. We have our Pantomime on Thursday and a Christmas Class Party on Friday (more information will be sent to you in due course), we also have lots of lovely, fun activities planned for the rest of the week.

Enjoy a lovely weekend and we will see you all back on Monday.

The Oakmere Team.
