Good afternoon everyone!

How is it already the end of the first half term!! It feels like this has been the busiest 7 weeks we have ever had in school but what amazing work has come from it. We are very proud of how well the children have settled into this new mix and into their respective year groups.

This week, we have written our final story following the structure of The Minpins by Roald Dahl - the children have really shown hard work and dedication to write all they've written, particularly our Year 3s who have written more than they ever have!

In Maths, Year 4s have practised their 4 times tables (please continue to support them by having regular practice on TTRock Stars - you can challenge any of us teachers on it!). Year 3s have practised adding by crossing over 10, this proved quite tricky - any extra practice of counting forwards and backwards at home will be very useful. Today, we had a more practical practice by creating a multiplication loop for the Y4s and doing some colour by number addition for our Y3s - this was enjoyed by all and still created learning.

We have also completed our Baha'i Faith unit in RE and we finally found out who had stolen the earrings in our Light Unit in Science.

There are many more fun activities planned for after half term but for now, we all deserve a good rest! Enjoy your half term everyone and we will see on Tuesday 1st November.

Take care, the Oakmere team!
