What another great week in Oakmere!

We have been working hard in Maths this week exploring the relationship between fractions and decimals. The year 3 children have been looking at tenths whilst the year 4 children have been exploring tenths and hundredths. We have aslo explore what happens to one and two digit numbers when they are divided by 10.

In English we have written some Kenning poems about different rainforest animals. I was particulary impressed with the word choices that were selected. Take a look on our English page for some examples of our poems and see if you can guess which animal is being described.

On Tuesday we were extremely lucky to be visited by Pam from Uganda. Before she arrived, we had prepared some questions that the children wanted to ask her. The children listened with enthusiam and interest as Pam shared her experiences.

I also wanted to say a huge well done to all of Oakmere for their excellent collective worship all about forgiveness on Wednesday. The children worked hard to share the message about God's forgiveness through the story of Zacchaeus.

We also enjoyed using the atlases on Friday to help us to explore the continents of the world.

See you in the morning.
