Oakmere's Friday News 20-5-22

Good afternoon!

Another busy week of fun in Oakmere! Science brought a lot iof fun on Thursday, we got to investigate plants on our school field and then, research facts about them before presenting them beautifully in a 3D card! We have carried on work on the Big Blue Whale, writing short information paragraphs which contained a lot of beautiful language and vocabulary. In RE, we have learnt about the story of the 10 Lepers and discussed the teachings we can gain from Jesus. The children came up with very thoughtful answers and thoughts. In Maths, we have carried on with the tricky concept of fractions, looking at equivalence! We have looked at using a fraction wall and working them out mathematically.

We want to take a moment to thank all the parents who came to parents evening, your support is always appreciated.

Next week brings all about the Queen's Jubilee. We shall learn more about our Queen, her reign and family - it will be a lot of fun. As a consequence, please note that exceptionally, PE kits will not be necessary on Friday. The children are however invited to come to school in red, white and/or blue! We shall look forward to it!
