Oakmere's Friday News 26.5.23

Date: 27th May 2023 @ 6:35am

Well that's it for another half term! We have had a lovely week in Oakmere and been as busy as ever.

In English, we have continued working with our new book, Flower, with a focus this week on using prepositional phrases when writing diary entries. The work produced by the children today was some of their best so far this year so we are very proud of them all.

Maths has brought us to the end of unit on fractions. This is not always an easy concept to grasp but the children have shown great perseverance when tackling their work this week. After half term, we will begin work on money and telling the time - any extra practise of these topics that you can do over the half term would be really beneficial! Year 4 children will be showing off their times table skills shortly after the holidays when they complete the statutory Multiplication Tables Check. Lots of practise over the next few weeks please!

We enjoyed getting messy working with clay once again in Art today as we have begun making our Minpin birds! After the clay has hardened over the holidays we will add wings and a tail, then finally collage to decorate. Watch this space!

We hope you all have an enjoyable and restful half term and we look forward to our last fews weeks together with lots of exciting things planned!
