Oakmere's Friday news

Date: 19th Nov 2021 @ 4:00pm

Here's to another week! Time is flying past and we are seeing a real progress in the children's work and positive attitude to work which is a great example of their resilience and respect for themselves!

Today was Children in Need and we had some fantastic outfits! Today also brought our first round of Bronze Reading Stars, well done to all 5 children who managed to read a minimum of 4 times a week for the last 10 weeks! This is a fantastic achievement! These will be weekly rewards so keep reading to get your Bronze Star or start working towards your silver one!

Yesterday's science was great fun with a quiz all about the digestive system! Who knew our stomach's acid could dissolve an iron nail?

This week was also Anti-bullying week, with the theme: One kind word. The children discussed this and had some great suggestions and ideas, they also completed some work about it.

Finally, in Literacy, we have started our new book, exploring vocabulary and making predictions - the children's word choices have improved a lot and we are proud of the challenges they are taking on! Keep going and keep making those good choices for yourselves.

Have a restful weekend and we'll see you next week.

The Oakmere team.
