Oakmere's Friday News

Date: 11th Mar 2022 @ 7:51pm

Good evening all,

It has been another full on week in school! This morning, we had a very exciting and highly anticipated event in assembly! We have had our first lot of "silver star" readers! That is an impressive 25 weeks worth of reading at least 4 times a week! This makes such a difference to the children's learning so thank you for the support you are giving your child and well done children!

They have also done brilliantly thinking systematically in Maths today and scaling objects up by using their times tables knowledge, it's amazing how useful a strong knowledge of times tables is.

We have explored the Stone Age further and the children did some wonderful acting on Wednesday, making the most of the nicer weather and creating freeze frames about the different activities Stone Age people would have been doing. The community leader (aka Mrs Riley) tells me there were some rebellion within the community demanding a fairer treatment and better rights! haha

In Science, we have explored the water cycle and created in indoor garden which we are hoping will water itself by using the principles of the water cycle - time will tell if we did it right!

Please remember that Tuesdays and Fridays are our PE days so please send your child with their hair up and a PE kit on those days.

Enjoy a restful weekend and we will see you all back on Monday!

The Oakmere team.
