Oakmere's Friday News

Date: 18th Nov 2022 @ 9:08pm

Good afternoon and welcome to the end of another week.

This week has brought on more successes and we have been hearing a lot about the children bringing their learning home and sharing things with you at home, this is so wonderful when they feel they can share what they are learning with you at home. School is all about given children a thirst for learning and when they bring their learning home, we know they are becoming active learners!

Science was fascinating, we managed to make sugar move using sound vibrations! We acted as molecules to show how the vibrations move from a sound source all the way to our ears which allows us to hear sounds.

Maths has been again very successful, the children have become experts at column additions, including exchange. Our Year 4s have started practising more of their 8 times tables, TTRS is a great support for them as, as they go up in the school, knowing their times tables off by heart is a massive bonus which will allow them to flourish!

Today, they wrote a list poem, everyone managed to create wonderful poems and some of us even had a go at making it rhyme! This is definitely a challenge but they have done very well.

Today was also Children in Need, the children certainly enjoyed dressing up today.

We wish you all a very good weekend and we will see you all on Monday.

The Oakmere Team.
