Oakmere's Weekly Update

Once again we have worked very hard in Oakmere. We are continuing to enjoy the book The Man Who Walked Between The Towers and we have found out some very interesting facts about the tight rope performer Philippe Petit. We have been working hard on completing more writing for the exhibition and this week we have written a diary entry as Philippe and also a Cinquain poem about him. 

we have also written about our hopes and dreams for the future and these have made a lovely new display in our classroom. Keep a look out on our page for a picture of this. The children has some lovely and inspiring ideas for the future. 

We have finished exploring place value and number in Maths this week. Some concepts were trickier than others but we got there in the end. 

Towards the end of the week we have been exploring the rules for changing adjectives to adverbs by adding the suffix ly.
