Our week 4th December - Linmere

Date: 10th Dec 2017 @ 10:42pm

Can you believe that there is now only 2 weeks of school left before we break up for Christmas?

This was an extremely busy week for Linmere. The week began with the children performing Bethlehem the Musical at the Lifestyle Centre. I am sure that all of you who came to watch will agree that the children sang their hearts out and it really helped to get us all in the festive mood.

In English we continued working on our book “The Promise” and this week focussed on writing setting description. There were some great examples of imagery and use of imagination in the children’s writing. They have also begun to think about incorporating speech into their narrative writing.

Our maths work involved learning about squared and cubed numbers as well as how to calculate the perimeter of shapes. The children really had to put all their thinking skills to use in order to calculate the missing measurements of some shapes.

On Thursday afternoon we all had a go at making clay volcanoes. This was great fun but certainly not an easy task! We are all keeping our fingers crossed that they will still be in one piece when they dry!

Finally, on Friday we had the school Christmas fair. It was lovely to see so many of you there and again I’m sure that all those who came enjoyed the festivities and the snow even made an appearance to add to the atmosphere.

We hope you all managed to have fun in the snow at some point.

See you on Monday.
