Our week 9th October

Date: 15th Oct 2017 @ 6:01pm

The week started off with our y5 children going on a pilgrimage to Chester cathedral. The day started with some singing which was followed by a tour. As part of the tour we all became monks and experienced how they ate their meals in silence! In the afternoon we added bricks to the Lego model of the cathedral that is currently being constructed and split in to groups to participate in a variety of activities including: calligraphy and silk painting.

Meanwhile, back in the classroom our learning focused on the formal methods of addition and subtraction. The children all worked incredibly hard to ensure their work was presented correctly and that they kept all their digits in the correct columns - not always an easy task!

In English we completed our information texts on whales and chose photos to add to them.

Next week we have some exciting science activities planned - please remember to bring an empty plastic bottle in to school on Monday or Tuesday. We will be cutting them up so you won't get them back!

Have a great weekend!
